Facility Coordinator

Job Purpose

To provide facility and property management services in all areas of African Safari Wildlife Park, and the surrounding properties. The facility coordinator will bid, coordinate, oversee and maintain the general maintenance of the property. In addition, the facility coordinator will be asked to oversee and project manage new exhibits, new construction, and help with operational tasks. While the main responsibilities of this job are focused on Facility upkeep, they will not be limited to just that function. This position requires flexibility, organization, innovation, but above all, problem solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to)

-Operation of Security Systems-some examples include checking functionality, scheduling regular maintenance, schedule cleaning, etc.

-Management of Grounds Maintenance-maintaining and improving curb appeal, scheduling landscaping services, overseeing landscaping projects, managing the irrigation systems, managing waste hauling services, snow and ice removal services, weekly perimeter inspections, ordering of supplies etc.

-Project Management- bidding, managing and follow through of assigned projects. Work closely with vendors and team mates to ensure projects are done efficiently. Keep lines of communication open between all parties involved in a project.

-Management of Farm Maintenance-coordinate hay baling, seeding, etc.

-Management of Equipment- schedules and maintains all equipment at the facility. Including all vehicles, HVAC, kitchen equipment, car washing equipment, POS Systems, etc. Also includes equipment inspection reports-Pre and Post Inspection reports for every trip.

-Management of USDA Regulations-Includes Lighting in Animal Areas, kitchen and food serving standards.

-Manage Maintenance Staff-assign daily, weekly, monthly goals. Work with and ensure the success of the maintenance team.

-Manage and Educate Safety Standards to staff and guests.

-Work as part of the Senior Leadership Team- adds value to the property, suggest projects, improvements. Take initiative when things can be improved.


-Must be 18 Years of Age

-Facility Maintenance or Management Experience Preferred

-Knowledge of Mechanical Systems Preferred

-Project Management Experience

Working Conditions

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:

-Walk, stand, sit, kneel, stoop, crawl, twist, reach above head, pull, bend, climb stairs and ladders, and carry up to 50lbs.

-Be able to stand for long periods of time up to 8 hours.

-Be able to work in adverse weather conditions.

-Summer Hours: 6 Days a week 10 hour shifts in May, June, July, August, September, October. This includes all weekends and Holidays.

-Must have the ability to stay on site overnight and travel occasionally.

-Winter Hours: Flexible and can even work remotely if willing to travel. General Schedule is 5 Days a Week, 8 hour shifts.

For each new hire there is a 90 Day Probationary Period, after the 90 days are up, the employee with meet with their direct supervisors to discuss a permanent agreement.

Compensation will depend on job qualifications.
