For this Position: Must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and be able to pass pre-employment screening, must have valid Driver's License OR State ID. Internship is Paid, full-time, working 32-40 hours a week, Monday-Friday. Job is in an in-office setting in Royal Oak, MI. Entry Level (prior experience with record keeping softwares are not required), willing to train the right candidate.
Digital Communications Coordinator
Responsibilities: Responsible for writing timely, original and engaging digital content and for developing communication strategies and tactics across African Safari Wildlife Park's social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), with the goal of increasing audience size and engagement. Brings strategic thinking and planning to the role to guide content development and prioritizing where to invest the most efforts related to various channels and opportunities for the Zoo. Monitors and engages with followers on social media and provides an early warning system for issues. Tracks results and gathers analytics to assess and improve the effectiveness of the Zoo’s digital communication. Captures and edits digital content (photos/videos) for digital communication purposes. Develops a range of website pages and updates the website. Works with Marketing team members to increase effectiveness and engagement in paid digital advertising campaigns. Constantly keeps abreast of industry and social media trends and makes recommendations for improvements based on the latest trends. Writes engaging copy for a range of audiences, including news releases and other materials to promote the Zoo. Edits and proofreads materials for a range of internal clients. Assists fellow Public Relations team members with other duties as necessary.
Qualifications: Willingness to learn, will train the right individual. Strong grammar, writing, editing and proofreading skills. Passionate and experienced at excelling in a fast-paced environment as both a team member and an independent contributor with autonomy. Ability to respond quickly and meet deadlines. Experience selecting photos and proficiency creating and editing video for multiple social media platforms. An ability to track social media comments, answer questions and remove offensive content. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Apple products, HTML and the technical requirements for a range of social media platforms. Experience with measuring and analyzing digital content effectiveness, including Google Analytics. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop required.
